As someone who plays a lot of games and has been in that community for so long, I have used and regularly use a variety of different game launchers and services. One of the main ones I currently use is the Xbox Gamepass Windows app. It’s a relatively new service, and does its job as a game library and launcher, but has a multitude of UX and UI issues.
As an exercise in learning Figma, I decided to redesign the Home page of the app, and create a more concise experience in both visual and functional aspects. The current app has a clunky UI, dissonant visual elements, and a lot of clutter. There’s too much information displayed all at once, and can often times feel rigid and a bit chaotic to use.
